We are delighted to announce that the Lambton Team Shoot will be taking place on the 16th, 17th & 18th of May 2024.

The event will be raising funds for the Great North Air Ambulance, St George’s Church and The Durham Community Foundation.

The Lambton Thursday Shoot on 16th May starts at 9am with a cost of £475 per team of four (maximum 50 teams). The drives consist of 7 flushes of 100 targets.

The Lambton Friday Shoot on 17th May starts at 9am with a cost of £495 per team of four (maximum 50 teams). The drives consist of 7 flushes of 100 targets.

The Lambton Team Shoot on Saturday 18th May starts at 9am with a cost of £385 per team of four (maximum 80 teams per day). The drives consist of 7 flushes of 80 targets.

1st February to 30th June – Daily from 10am to 4.30pm

1st July to 30th September 10am to 4.30pm – Sundays only

Limited car parking is available in a dedicated car park at Bowes Business Park.

There will be a £3 charge for car parking. Cash only.

We are delighted to once again be welcoming Chester-le-Street Steam and Vintage Fair to Lambton Park on 8th & 9th of July.

There will be a huge selection of vehicles and machines from times past, with everything from huge powerful steam engines, to classic cars and motorbikes. Not to mention, stationary engines, miniature steam engines, vintage tractors, classic commercial vehicles and even military modes of transport.

The fair is perfect for a Family day out and you can just turn up and pay on the gate.

We are delighted that Wild Deer Events will once again be running their Annual Trail Run only event at Lambton Park on the 21st August 2022.

There will be a 5 miler and a 10 miler, which will be excellent training runs for anyone taking part in the Great North Run or other autumn endurance events and a family 1 mile run as well.

Both events will start and finish at the Castle and take in some fabulous scenery around the site. All runs will take place on mixed terrain with some rough trails, firm paths and some cross-country type fields.

All runners will get WILD DEER MERCHANDISE, A WOODEN MEDAL, SNACK & A DRINK.

Please be aware of the following closures to the permissive footpath routes over the coming weeks:

SUNDAY 26TH JUNE – the permissive footpaths will be closed due to The Lambton Run taking place. The footpaths will re-open on Monday 27th June, subject to the amendment below:

MONDAY 27TH JUNE THROUGH TO TUESDAY 2ND AUGUST – part of the Ridge Walk along the banks of the River Wear, between The Lamb Bridge and The New Bridge, will be closed until 2nd August on health and safety grounds, due to engineering and maintenance work taking place along the river bank.

SUNDAY 10TH JULY – the permissive footpaths will be closed due to the Chester-le-Street Steam Fair taking place.

We are delighted that once again the St. Cuthbert’s Hospice will be holding their Rainbow Ramble at Lambton Park on Sunday 3rd July 2022.

Run, walk, toddle or dance your way around the family friendly 5k route and get showered with all the colours of the rainbow at colour stations along the way. The 5k route is made up of two 2.5k laps so basically double the colour!

Don’t worry if you’re not a runner – the event isn’t timed so you’re not racing against anyone and there’s no time limit!

The course starts in the beautiful grounds of Lambton Park is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs and there’s no minimum or maximum age limit, so everyone can take part!

You will receive an official St Cuthbert’s Hospice t-shirt to wear on the day and a fundraising pack posted out to you and support to help you reach your fundraising goal including sponsorship forms and a lucky squares fundraising game!

Raising a little sponsorship while taking on the Rainbow Ramble will help to make a real difference.

£20 could help the hospice to provide an hour of nursing care.

£40 could allow a nurse to plan individualised care for a guest in the Living Well Centre.

£50 could help the Dementia Specialist Nurse to assess the needs and support someone living with dementia and their family.

The Lambton Run 3k and 10k runs will once again be taking place at Lambton Park on Sunday 26th June 2022.

Perfectly timed for those training towards the Great North Run in September, the 10k run is a rural undulating course which has proved popular with club and recreational runners alike.

Suitable for families and runners of all ages and abilities, the 3k Family Fun Run is perfect for younger participants.

PLEASE NOTE: Following the extensive damage caused throughout the region by Storm Arwen, the permissive footpaths at Lambton Park will remain closed to both residents and visitors until further notice.

Estate staff and external contractors have been working hard since the Storm to clear the permissive routes of fallen trees and debris and this work is ongoing.

The permissive footpaths will remain closed until this work has been completed and the routes can safely be reopened.
