Permissive Footpaths Closure – Chester-Le-Street Steam and Vintage Fair 2026
Temporary Footpath Closures – Chester-Le-Street Steam and Vintage Fair
Ahead of the 2026 Chester-Le-Street Steam and Vintage Fair, we are writing to inform all residents and commercial tenants of the temporary permissive footpath closures across the Lambton Estate.
The racecourse loop will be closed from the evening of Friday 19 June 2026 and will reopen on the morning of Wednesday 1 July 2026. This is the field where the event will be hosted, so additional time is required for set-up and dismantling before and after the event weekend.
In addition, all permissive footpaths across the Estate will be temporarily closed from the evening of Friday 26 June 2026 until the morning of Tuesday 30 June 2026. This means the footpaths will be closed on Saturday 27 June, Sunday 28 June and Monday 29 June.
There will also be a significant number of wagons and vehicles travelling along Estate roads during this period. We kindly ask that extra care is taken when travelling around the Estate.
The Steam & Vintage Fair

Although the permissive routes will be closed, residents and visitors are warmly welcomed to attend the attractions at the Steam and Vintage Fair, which will be held on the Estate on Saturday 27 June 2026 and Sunday 28 June 2026.
The event provides two action-packed days full of unique attractions, perfect for the whole family. The event will showcase an exclusive range of exhibits including vintage cars, commercial vehicles, motorbikes, military vehicles, tractors, stationary engines and fairground rides.
Although the window for pre-ordering tickets has now closed, you can attend on either day of the event and pay by cash or card on the gate.
