Biddick Walled Garden

Biddick Walled Garden offers a stylish location for a wedding, celebration or corporate event and with privacy, seclusion and the sheer variety of opportunities available within the 4 acres of mature gardens, will ensure a unique and perfect atmosphere for any occasion.

The main garden areas have a distinctly Italian flavour, with extensive lawns, formal beech hedges, stone sculptures and clipped yew leading guests down through smaller garden rooms and creating guided vistas featuring statues and expansive views down to a striking stone fountain, which originally stood in the walled garden at Lambton Castle. In the summer months two trained Laburnum arches create a glorious yellow spectacle, ideal for that special photo opportunity.

A beautiful walled orchard, which mixes new and historic planting, has a carpet of daffodils and bluebells in spring and blossom laden boughs in the early summer.

Bordered by brick walls with roses, yew and box, the Italian Garden has a central mosaic brick path with side paths in oyster shell. A beech arch, the Yew Walk and a striking central feature created from an original stone window from a now demolished part of the Castle, were all ideas from the garden’s creator, the then Lord Lambton.

The view of Biddick Hall, with its wrought iron railings, formal rose gardens and Ionic pilasters, creates a stunning backdrop to any event photography.

The garden down to the fountain and the avenue are licensed for the sale of alcohol and entertainment.
